NEWS RELEASE: National Campaign Announced to Save National Mall Tidal Basin

Today the National Trust for Historic Preservation named the National Mall Tidal Basin to its National Treasures portfolio and announced plans to partner with the Trust for National Mall and the National Park Service over the next three years to address the 107-acre site’s pressing need for critical upgrades and modernization, including a crumbling sea wall and daily flooding that swamps sidewalks.

Historic Lockkeeper’s House opens on the National Mall following major renovation

The Trust for the National Mall and the National Park Service marked the official opening of the restored Lockkeeper’s House with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The oldest structure on the National Mall has been the subject of a major restoration project for the past year and a half that has transformed the house into an educational and visitor contact location on the National Mall.
