Veterans Day Program: Explore the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the National Mall

In honor of Veteran's Day, join us for a virtual education program with National Mall Volunteer Allen McCabe to explore one of the veteran memorials on the National Mall. Allen has spent over 12,000 hours volunteering at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and has many stories to share!  Designed by university student Maya Lin, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial changed the way the nation looked at war memorials; people fought and died, and their sacrifices are not forgotten.  Hear about the symbolism of the memorial and some of the special experiences Allen has had while interacting with visitors at "the Wall."  Please bring any questions you have about the Vietnam Veterans Memorial! 

This virtual classroom event is recommended for grades 4 and up, but all are welcome.
