Trust for the National Mall Financial reporting

A Message from Our CEO: The Story Behind the Numbers

At the Trust for the National Mall, our mission is to restore, preserve, and enrich America’s Front Yard. Each year, our financial statements reflect more than numbers—they tell the story of our shared commitment to protect one of the most iconic public spaces in the world.

As is typical in the nonprofit space, our financials can vary widely from year to year reflecting the success of major fundraising campaigns and the progress of project expenditures. The funding we receive is frequently aligned with specific restoration projects which can take multiple years to complete. For marquee projects such as the construction of the new U.S. Park Police Horse Stables—we may see a surge in contributions in a given year. And in some years, we see larger expenditures based on the construction cycle of a project after prior years of fundraising. These fluctuations represent moments when vision meets action, when generosity fuels progress. Every dollar raised and spent is tied to a tangible outcome that enhances the visitor experience and honors the historic purpose of the National Mall.

Our financials are a reflection of our momentum, our collective impact, and our dedication to stewarding this national treasure. The Trust shares gratitude for our generous supporters who make our critical projects and impact possible on America’s Front Yard.

With gratitude,
