MARCH THROUGH TIME: Experience the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial and the 1963 March on Washington
Imagine that you could travel back in time 60 years and attend the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom on the National Mall in Washington DC. What would that experience be like? How would it feel to hear Dr. King give the “I Have a Dream” speech? Wouldn’t it be incredible to find out, to experience it yourself? Join us for a virtual tour of the Martin Luther King, Jr., Memorial and then meet our special guest, Edith Lee-Payne, who was there on August 28, 1963. Hear stories about what it was like to be a kid at the March on Washington. Ms. Lee-Payne will share her memories and answer your questions.
This program is designed for 3rd - 6th grade classrooms, but all are welcome to join.
