TEACH 250: inspiring a more perfect union
Live from Independence Hall
Tuesday, september 17, 2024
Join the National Mall for one Tuesday evening each a month for a virtual teacher professional development series preparing for the America 250th commemoration in 2026. Meet with National Park Service staff and friends to explore content and strategies for incorporating these places and topics into your curriculum.
In September's program, go beyond the ropes for an exclusive virtual tour of Independence Hall, the building in Philadelphia where the Declaration of Independence and U.S. Constitution were signed. National Park Service rangers will focus on the Declaration of Independence, leading educators through the events connected with the creation of the document. Explore powerful stories of conflict, collaboration, and the ongoing experiment in self-government. BONUS: get a behind-the-scenes view of the second floor spaces where later generations of Americans sought to link their struggle for equality and human rights with the famous words in the Declaration of Independence.
