Trust for the National Mall Hosts a Summer Celebration with Supporters at New Office Headquarters
On June 28, the Trust for the National Mall gathered with its long-term champions, corporate partners and new friends to usher in a summer season of celebration on America’s Front Yard.
The event began with a bus tour of the Trust’s past, present and future impact with the National Park Service on the National Mall, compliments of our partners at Big Bus. Trust supporters and partners boarded the bus with their families and kids to hear insider knowledge and facts about the National Mall from Trust Vice President of Philanthropy Stephen Saunders and Mike Litterst, National Park Service Communications Chief for National Mall and Memorial Parks.
The bus returned to the new Trust offices at 1730 Pennsylvania Avenue for a summer celebration on the rooftop of the building, with spectacular panoramic views of the National Mall. Guests enjoyed cocktails and refreshments, as well as games, activities and a DIY floral bar where they could build bouquets to take home, as they mingled and connected over a shared commitment to restoring, preserving and enriching the National Mall.
Trust President and CEO Catherine Townsend gave remarks highlighting the invaluable support of our partners at the National Park Service, corporate and individual supporters, and volunteers who make our crucial work on America’s Front Yard possible. Jeff Reinbold, NPS Superintendent National Mall and Memorial Parks, echoed these sentiments and emphasized the role of the Trust in making critical advancements in the sustainable and educational enrichment of the National Mall, and also shared updates on current improvements to prepare the Mall to play center stage for the 250th anniversary of American independence in 2026. Mike Litterst followed with fun facts about the National Mall and awarded junior ranger badges to guests and kids for guessing the correct answers to trivia questions.
The Trust was grateful to gather with this special group of committed partners and supporters as we gear up for a monumental move to our new office building at 1730 Pennsylvania Avenue NW. The Trust will officially move in on July 18, and looks forward to many more celebrations with supporters on our new rooftop overlooking the treasured space that we all work to preserve, restore and enrich every day.
