Mall Hands On Deck with GE Aerospace

The Trust for the National Mall and National Park Service welcomed volunteers from GE Aerospace to the Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial to participate in a “Mall Hands on Deck” Day of Service. The group of top GE Aerospace leaders worked to clear debris left by recent severe storms and to protect trees with wood chips.

Trust for the National Mall President and CEO Catherine Townsend and National Park Service Superintendent of the National Mall Dr. Kevin Griess thanked the volunteers for their work and for GE Aerospace’s generosity as a Distinguished Supporter of the Trust’s Our Monumental Moment campaign inspired by America’s 250th anniversary. GE Aerospace is also a Distinguished Supporter of the National Mall Gateway, the groundbreaking civic education platform that is bringing new life to America’s greatest living history classroom.

“Today we welcome our partners at GE Aerospace for some hands-on volunteer work at one of the National Mall’s most beloved presidential memorial sites,” remarked Catherine Townsend, Trust for the National Mall President & CEO. “Coupled with their generous financial support for our National Mall Gateway learning platform, this ‘Mall Hands on Deck’ day of service underscores GE Aerospace’s commitment to ensuring the National Mall endures and inspires all who visit – both now and for the future.”
