Washington Post: Love the Tidal Basin's cherry blossoms? Thank this guy and his team

The Washington Post featured the National Mall and Memorial Parks’ arborist, Matthew Morrison, as he discussed the strategies he implements daily on the National Mall to ensure the care and maintenance of the cherry trees. By Adopting a Cherry Tree, you can do the same: your support ensures the National Park Service can continue to maintain the Tidal Basin cherry trees for generations to come.

Twice daily, many of the cherry trees on the Tidal Basin are flooded with water from the failing Tidal Basin seawalls. The long-planned reconstruction project will help address this harmful flooding that causes cherry tree rot, decay and removal. You can support our Adopt-A-Cherry-Tree campaign and help ensure the blooming of the Cherry Blossoms, a storied Washington D.C. tradition, will continue for generations to come. Thank you to all who have supported the trees this season.
