STREAM RECORD-BREAKING FOURTH OF JULY FIREWORKS FROM TOP OF WASHINGTON MONUMENT ON #MONUMENTCAM
Trust for the National Mall partners with EarthCam and National Park Service in preparation for America’s 250th celebration on the National Mall
WASHINGTON (June 30, 2026) — The Trust for the National Mall is excited to announce that its 24/7, year-round #MonumentCam, in partnership with EarthCam and the National Park Service, will feature the historic Fourth of July fireworks happening on the National Mall in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. The live feed takes place from the top of the Washington Monument, providing a unique view of the legendary show that can’t be found anywhere else in the world.
Freedom 250 has announced the fireworks display will begin at 10:30 P.M. and will run for approximately 40 minutes, launching from locations including the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. Full information can be found here. Organizers at Freedom 250 have shared that the display will include more than 850,000 fireworks nearly doubling the typical July 4th National Mall display, and attempting a new world record.
The specially designed camera sits inside a hidden, three-inch diameter hole atop the Washington Monument. The hole was drilled by engineers in 2011 when climbers needed to inspect the Monument following earthquake damage.
“The Trust for the National Mall is thrilled to once again partner with EarthCam to bring this extraordinary view to everyone, from across the country and around the world to experience the spectacular Fourth of July fireworks for America’s historic 250th,” said Catherine Townsend, President & CEO of the Trust for the National Mall. “This is the celebration we have all been waiting for, the Fourth of July marking the 250th Anniversary of our nation. Our work to restore and activate the National Mall, America’s Front Yard, has never been more important than right now. I hope everyone tunes in from around the country and around the globe for what will be a fantastic show.”
