The Trust for the National Mall is honored to share that its 2023 March On: RUSTIN Walking Tour and Podcast has been nominated for two Community Voice Awards by the Anthem Awards. The three-part audio tour lets listeners both on the National Mall and virtually from anywhere, tune in to listen to the story behind the making of the March on Washington for Jobs and Freedom in 1963.
March on: RUSTIN is a collaboration between the Trust for the National Mall and Netflix's RUSTIN, providing listeners with an opportunity to walk in the footsteps of the 1963 March On Washington, which cemented the National Mall's role as America’s Civic Stage. Narrated by artist Branford Marsalis, The audio tour features original footage from the March, audio snippets from the 2023 Netflix film RUSTIN, and gives listeners an opportunity to learn about Bayard Rustin and his role as an architect of the March, its impact and its legacy.
