Field Trip of a Lifetime for America’s 250th
As the summer of America’s 250th continues, the Trust for the National Mall was proud to join its partners at the America250 Commission to welcome student-winners of the America’s Field Trip contest for a behind the scenes special tour of the National Mall. Students from across the country joined us to experience the National Mall Gateway and explore sites including the new Lincoln Memorial Undercroft and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial
Contest winners experienced our National Mall Gateway digital learning platform, which shares behind-the-scenes stories and all the facts about America’s most treasured monuments and memorials and the historic purpose of the National Mall.
The winning students entered earlier this year to participate in the Field Trip, by sharing their unique perspectives through creative writing and art. Through the contest, participants had the chance to win a memorable field trip to experience some of the nation’s most iconic historic sites, including the National Mall.
As we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary year, these young voices remind us that the future of our nation is being shaped by the young leaders and innovators of tomorrow!
