Notes of Remembrance: Taps Across the National Mall

To begin the Memorial Day commemoration events, Taps will be played in unison at 8 AM at sixteen sites of memorials and future memorials that honor those who have made the supreme sacrifice in service of their country. This year, in recognition of America's 250th anniversary, Notes of Remembrance is expanding to the presidential memorials on the National Mall, recognizing the Commanders in Chief commemorated on America's Front Yard. Visitors are invited to pause at one of the sixteen locations to reflect on the meaning of Memorial Day and remember our fallen. Sites at which Taps will be played include:

4. Desert Shield and Desert Storm Memorial (future site)
5. Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial
6. Franklin Delano Roosevelt Memorial
7. Global War on Terrorism Memorial (future site)
8. Korean War Veterans Memorial
9. Lincoln Memorial
10. Thomas Jefferson Memorial
11.United States Marine Corps Memorial
12.United States Navy Memorial
13. Vietnam Veterans Memorial
14. Washington Monument
15. World War I Memorial
