Eisenhower Under the Stars 2025

Join us Friday, May 16, to gaze at the stars and celebrate the anniversary of President Eisenhower’s visionary 1958 proposal to create what is now known as NASA.

Join us at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Memorial, just off the National Mall in Washington, DC, for a fun night of stargazing and celebrating the advancements in space exploration under the Eisenhower administration. National and local experts and astronomy organizations will invite visitors to tour the cosmos through guided telescope observations and learn about space exploration in 2025.

Telescopes and hands-on activities will be presented by our exhibiting partners at:

  • National Air and Space Museum

  • National Park Service

  • Belmont Paul Women's Equality National Monument

  • Northern Virginia Astronomy Club

  • Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Lab Astronomy Club

  • NASA GLOBE Program
