Ileana Mejia
External Affairs Manager
Ileana (she/her) is the External Affairs Manager at the Trust for the National Mall. In her role, she builds relationships with key stakeholders including Members of Congress, D.C. elected officials, and partner organizations to advance the mission of the Trust.
Prior to joining TMN, Ileana was a lobbyist at a nonprofit in St. Paul, Minnesota where she spent time advocating on behalf the Minnesota nonprofit sector. Before that, she was a community organizer where she focused on coalition building around equitable development and parks and green spaces. Ileana has a Master’s degree in Public Policy from Humphrey School of Public Affairs and has completed a term of service with Public Allies AmeriCorps program. She is passionate about advocacy, racial justice, and ensuring everyone has access to green spaces.
