"Mall Hands on Deck" with Stanley Black & Decker
The Trust for the National Mall and National Park Service welcomed volunteers from Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. to participate in a “Mall Hands on Deck” Day of Service in preparation for July 4th activities and the celebration of America’s 250th. The group worked on projects including making needed repairs at the Korean War Veterans Memorial and Vietnam Veterans Memorial Kiosks, as well as painting, mulching and restoration projects.
Trust for the National Mall CEO and President Catherine Townsend and National Park Service Superintendent of the National Mall Dr. Kevin Griess joined Stanley Black & Decker CEO Christopher Nelson to thank the volunteers for their work and to thank Stanley Black & Decker, for their generosity in supporting the Trust’s work with the National Park Service to restore, preserve and enrich the National Mall.
Stanley Black and Decker recently contributed a set of tools worth $50,000 that will directly support National Park Service crews as they care for more than 1,000 acres of parkland, memorials and historic sites across the National Mall. The Trust for the National Mall is deeply grateful to Stanley Black & Decker for their partnership and their $300,000 combined investment in both funding and top-tier tools.
“Your investment is making a real and lasting impact,” remarked Catherine Townsend. “Today’s “Mall Hands on Deck” service really brings that commitment to life. Stanley Black & Decker employees are not just partners in name—you are here on the ground, rolling up your sleeves to help restore and revitalize the visitor kiosks that serve millions of people each year.
