Commemorating President Dwight D. Eisenhower’s 136th Birthday
The Trust was proud to host a free event that welcomed the public for featured remarks from National Mall and Memorial Parks, National Park Service Superintendent Dr. Kevin Griess, himself a U.S. military veteran, and a special sunset birthday concert by the Brass Quintet of The U.S. Army Band “Pershing’s Own.”
Trained Volunteers-in-Parks “VIP” volunteers were on hand to share stories of the life, leadership, and legacy of President and General Dwight D. Eisenhower, as well as the design and significance of his memorial.
