As America’s 250th anniversary in 2026 quickly approaches, the Trust for the National Mall launched its new digital learning platform, the National Mall Gateway, bringing American history and civics to life and inviting students to experience the National Mall like never before. The new digital and onsite platform was launched on Constitution Day, celebrating the signing of the nation’s foundational document on September 17, 1787.
Trust President and CEO Catherine Townsend officially launched the Gateway at the Civics, Citizenship, and the Constitution Summit, hosted by More Perfect and iCivics at American University last week on September 17.

The Gateway is an enduring legacy project inspired by America’s historic 250th anniversary in 2026 — inviting students and visitors to experience the National Mall for this monumental moment in history. Demand for content and tools for learning from students around the world and the tens of millions of visitors to the nation’s capital continues to grow as we approach 2026.
The National Mall Gateway was developed to meet that demand by the Trust for the National Mall in partnership with the National Park Service and with support from visionary funders, led by HP, Inc..
