The Trust for the National Mall has been restoring sites on the Mall since 2007 — including the repair of the Washington Monument after the 2011 earthquake, restoring the iconic grass lawns and building the new US Park Police Horse Stables and Education Center. Learn more here.

The Trust for the National Mall has exciting plans underway for the upcoming Semiquincentennial, the 250th anniversary of American independence coming in 2026. This includes rebuilding Sylvan Theater, the space at the base of the Washington Monument, as a vibrant space for community gathering and performances, and establishing a new virtual civic learning experience to connect educators and visitors to history and the National Mall — both onsite and all over the world.
