Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs, UnitedHealth Group
As Executive Vice President, Corporate Affairs, Cory Alexander provides executive leadership for UnitedHealth Group’s Marketing, Communications, Research, International Relations, U.S. External Affairs, social responsibility and United Health Foundation activities. Corporate Affairs seeks to align and optimize Enterprise efforts focused on reputation, positioning, growth and relationships across UnitedHealthcare, Optum and UnitedHealth Group.
Mr. Alexander previously led UnitedHealth Group External Affairs with responsibility for Enterprise government and public affairs, advocacy, thought leadership, international relations, and social responsibility activities.
Mr. Alexander serves as a Board Member of the United Health Foundation and is a National Trustee for the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
From 1994 to 2006, Mr. Alexander worked in various capacities for U.S. Representative Steny Hoyer (D-MD), including serving as his Chief of Staff from 2002 to 2006 during Representative Hoyer’s tenure as the House Democratic Whip, the second ranking Democratic Leader in the U.S. House of Representatives. Prior to working on Capitol Hill, in 1993, Mr. Alexander worked in the Clinton Administration as Special Assistant to the Special Counselor to the President, William Daley. From 2006 to 2008, Mr. Alexander was Vice President of Government and Industry Relations for Fannie Mae.
Mr. Alexander attended the University of Maryland at College Park, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. He resides in Chevy Chase, Maryland with his wife Stacey and their son Max.
