Constitution Gardens Project Construction Information
Trust for the National Mall Issues Pre-Solicitation Notice
The Trust for the National Mall (“Trust”), the non-profit partner of the National Park Service (“NPS”), has issued a pre-solicitation notice for a request for qualifications packages for the selection of a General Contractor for the Rehabilitation of Constitution Gardens (“Project”); a 38 acre site managed by NPS located on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., bordered by Constitution Avenue between 20th Street and 17th Street on the north, 17th Street on the east, the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on the south and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial on the west. The National Mall and Constitution Gardens site is managed by the National Park Service (NPS), National Mall and Memorial Parks (NAMA).
The project will be wholly funded, managed and implemented by the Trust. The Trust anticipates awarding a CM at Risk with a guaranteed maximum price contract for construction of Phase I based upon a two-step selection procedure.

The total construction budget for the entire Constitution Gardens project is anticipated to be $100 - $115 million and is limited by the available project funding. It is anticipated that the project will be constructed in two phases:
- Phase I will be in the range of $3 - $4 million and will be completed by July 2016.
- Phase II is currently anticipated to begin after Phase I completion with exact schedules to be determined based upon the availability of funding.
